The idea is to create two self views at once physically separated yet united by a common psychological bond. The left panel embodies the past and the right panel, the present. A diptych  gives each self a distinct realm to occupy. The drawings together depict the precise moment when the two selves meet, when the past self makes a moral offering, embracing mortality and encouraging the present self to reconcile childhood dreams. At the cusp of this new reality, the present self must decide to abandon dreams or to go forth with renewed belief.
